Learning Profile
The learning profile test allows us to determine our strengths and weakness. This way, learning can be more efficient when we memorize concepts using learning styles that are suitable for us. For example, for someone who is visual smart, he can use diagrams to illustrate points and concepts. This way, he can understand and learn better.
Personally, I feel that this test has allowed me to understand myself better. As indicated by the statistics above, my strengths are more inclined towards logical, intrapersonal and linguistic. Hence, when learning and memorizing concepts, I will use learning styles related to logic and language.
However, this test has some disadvantages. For example, some students might want to show that he is a logical thinker and alter the questions accordingly. However, just cases are purely one sided and will not benefit the user. Other than that, such tests are only a general but not accurate test of your ability. For someone who does not know himself well, how is he able to answer these questions accurately? Hence, these learning styles are only a general overview of what you’re better at. Also, as you grow older and your environment changes, your learning styles might change too. Hence, it’s better to take such tests occasionally to update your profile.
In a nutshell, I feel that the learning profile test has benefitted me and allow me to understand my learning methods better. This way, I’ll be able to memorize and understand concepts faster by applying the respective learning styles.
