Celebrity Blogger Episode 1- Dreams and How to interpret dream
“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.”
Well, dreaming can mean a lot of things, but I’ll be covering on goals and the dreams that you, umm dream. Essentially, one thing leads to another and your dreams have pretty much to do with your ambitions and goals.
What is dream, we often wonder. According to Wikipedia, a dream is a succession of images, thoughts, sounds, or emotions which pass through the mind during sleep. That might be true to most, but I feel that dreams are imagined and made. They do not come naturally, unless you are strongly influenced by something. For example, there was once when I spammed a computer game (Wolf team) for 9 hours and got tormented by pictures of wolves and guns the whole night! I couldn’t catch a wink and had to catch short micro naps in class! Thinking back, I never understood why I did that. Playing 4 hours of wolf team was already tiring in itself, but 9 hours made me dizzy and confused in the mind. I guess it’s probably because I was procrastinating as usual.
Other than that, online sources say that that we dream all the time, subconsciously. It’s just that, when we sleep, our conscious mind view the “dream” and records it down.
Having given an introduction to what dreams are, it’s time to move on to interpreting dreams. This might seem to be an odious task to you, as I understand that recalling dreams can be hard at times.
For easier understanding, this will be written in point formJ
1. Get a notebook. Stop! Don’t procrastinate and skip this step. This is the most basic step and is fundamental. Think about it, to interpret your dream, you would first have to remember it right? At the same time, your writing skills improve!
2. Sleep well.
a. Relax yourself and do deep breathing. You can do so by listening to your favourite baroque music or some relaxing music that will be played on my blogJ
b. Pay attention to the things affecting you today. They play an important part in your remembering of dreams as they can give you a clue on what it is about.
c. Encourage yourself to remember your dream. Try repeating “ I’ll remember my dream” with conviction. It might help
If you can now recall your dreams effectively, then it’s time to move on to the main part of the course: Interpreting dreams.
Allow me to start off this section with an inspiring quote from Harriet Tubman, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
Having recorded down your dream, analysis it and find out the theme. A theme is a the concept that the dream revolves around. For example, “You have a dream of a beautiful hall with shinny marble floors and incredible works of art on the walls. The pictures are framed in solid gold. There are flowers in the corner, and they are breathtaking. The ceiling is cathedral style, with graceful arches with ornate carvings. You get the distinct impression that you are alone, and in charge of it's upkeep. You here a faint scratching sound from the other end of the hall. You hurry down there and zero in on the sound. To your horror a mouse is chewing on the corner of a magnificent painting. You realize if you do nothing at all, the work will be rendered worthless and ugly. But you know if you catch the mouse you can save the painting since little to no damage has been done. You are uncertain you can get the mouse in time”. You wake up feeling disappointed and remorse, as you do not want to see something so important to you destroyed.
So here is the theme when you take away the details.
Someone sees something precious being senselessly destroyed. There is a chance to put an end to it, if acted upon quickly.
Now, with the theme, you then link it to the current affairs of your life. For example, if you dream of something being destroyed, you might link it to a bad event regarding your career, etc.
Help: As your dreams are generally about you and events on your life, think something like, “Which area of my life is this dream based on?” instead of “ What does this dream mean?”
Ask yourself:
“What is important to you in your life? Is it damaged in any way?” ( The ah-hah feeling will come to you once you get it)
Having identified the element of your life, you can then move on from there on. If there that aspect of your life is damaged in some way or another and you are unable to find a solution, rest assured! Your mind has a solution and the clue appears in your dream. Try to see your dream from another perspective.
Haha… Like I said, this is the basic of the basic. The advanced way of interpreting will be posted on episode 2 of celebrity blogger!
Ciao.
